I had never heard of piranha agate until I saw this seriously cool stone. It doesn’t really resemble the fish of the same name at all, probably because it’s actually named after “Parana”, a state near Guarapuava, Brazil. The name is probably the gringo spelling of its location! I fell in love with the lovely swirl of colors and especially the pristine white druzy pockets. It sat in my studio for awhile so I could think about what gemstone beads would complement this in a necklace. I had a dream recently about these platinum heshi and rainbow moonstones and they look awesome with it! Love, love, love!
Note that there are two “cut out” parts in this stone, that you will see through to whatever color is worn underneath the necklace.
