Murray’s ceramic sculpture and paintings are extensions of her collage works on paper. She assembles biomorphic forms to create larger installations. “In my art practice, I enjoy the play of shifting from paint to paper to clay,” explains Murray. “Working with similar color, pattern and form in all three media—discovering endless combinations of material and meaning.”
Educated at Herron School of Art and Design Katrina Murray studied art history in Italy and lived for a time in Germany during the eventful mid 80s. A native of the historic arts area of Brown County, Indiana, Murray now lives and works in Indianapolis, IN.
