Vendor Biography

As a native of rural Hartford, Kentucky, I taught art in my home county’s public school district.  Needing to better provide for my family, I sought administrative positions, and I served as district’s vocational school principal, and later as the high school’s assistant principal.  Retiring from public education, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky where I served as the Jefferson Community College Prison Program Coordinator.  In addition to working as coordinator, I taught Art History and Drawing.  Hopefully, my former middle, high school, and college students would share that my focus was promoting their success.   Now, here I am, retired and able to focus on “me”.  Free from full time employment, I gladly address my enthusiasm for painting.  I select subjects that I hope an observer might enjoy.  Often we pass by the mundane: close ups of nature, a stairwell, the intricacies of an historic lamp post, etc.  My goal is to bring those to the forefront and provide enjoyment through color.
